upload via ftp
Hi, I am trying to upload the fasta genome file for mouse (mm10) via ftp but I get the following error:

curl -T mm10.fa -u fanlaura ftp://ribogalaxy.ucc.ie/mm10.fa
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 0curl: (67) Access denied: 530

Any clue about how to correct this?
Thanks!!!

RE: upload via ftp
Hi there,

You could try using an FTP client tool such as FileZilla to upload the data. Some slides on the usage of FileZilla to upload to RiboGalaxy are provided on the 'RiboGalaxy demo slides' on the Published Pages (http://ribogalaxy.ucc.ie/page/list_published).

If this does not work, please let us know so that we can investigate further.

All the best,
The RiboGalaxy team

RE: upload via ftp
Hi -
I have a related question: I would like to upload using http instead of ftp. On UCSC, one can do this through this process:
https://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/...ml#Hosting which essentially instructs a datashare as described here:
https://hpc.nih.gov/nih/datashare.html

Does the same process work at Ribogalaxy? I have tried a bunch of different iterations, and it doesn't seem to work.

thanks,
Dan

RE: upload via ftp
Hi Dan,

There is the option to upload using a URL on the RiboGalaxy page 'Upload File from your computer'.

Is this what you are referring to?

Kind regards,
Audrey

RE: upload via ftp
Hi Audrey,
Yes, that is the option I am referring to. A public facing link that works for UCSC does not seem to work for RiboGalaxy. The error I get is:

empty
formatfastqilluminadatabasehg19
Unable to fetch <filename>
[Errno socket error] [Errno 1] _ssl.c:510: error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol
